  • Shows an ear-to-ear tube, which looks like a stethescope whose chestpiece is replaced by an earpiece. The earpiece is inserted into the patient's ear, aiding the examination of a patient complaining of a noise in the ear or the head. [102]
  • In Whipple disease, "a unique, possibly pathognomonic, movement disorder, involving a slow (1 Hz) convergent-divergent pendular nystagmus, associated with synchronous, rhythmic movements of the mouth and other body parts, has been called oculomasticatory or oculo-facial-skeletal myorhythmia. [It] is distinguished from oculo-palatal myoclonus by the presence of convergent-divergent oscillations and the absence of inferior olive pseudohypertrophy on pathologic examination." [103]
  • Ambient sound, even speech at 65 dB, was enough to provoke clicking in the patient's right ear. [104]
